Heera College establishing the Heera Technology Innovation Zone, a inter college innovation incubator hub for many technology sectors under an umbrella. The zone will create world class infrastructure facilities for multi sector technology incubators to incubate their start-ups and to support home grown enterprises

HCET in partnership with Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM, launched its new structured incubation program designed to provide a springboard to budding entrepreneurs in building scalable technology products and solutions. The new Incubation Program is open to all HCET students and Faculties. The startup founders can easily access to the Sector Experts & Business Mentors, Tailor made workshops, Industry and Investor networks of HCET and KSUM circles and are eligible for a variety of state and central Govt. schemes and grants from Heera IEDC and KSUM.

DERIVE

During the ideation stage, the team with a potentially innovative idea is provided with co-working space, development kits and access to equipment and allied facilities to develop a Proof of Concept. The idea is refined to ensure that there is a business case to it.

DESIGN

Companies start product design and prototyping envisioning a market viable product. Maker Village provides the startups with electronics design automation tools and mechanical design tools, as well as marketing and prototyping facilities. Financial assistance is also provided through grants, loans to promising teams.


DEVELOPMENT

During this stage the engineering design and development is undertaken by the startups to build a fully functional product after taking into account the modalities of Industrial design and DFM. Heera IEDC provides all the necessary support through mentoring by subject matter experts and various labs, equipment and technologies. The startups are also provided with co-investment opportunities if any and would be able to leverage the extensive partner network for product outreach and forging alliances and associations. Heera IEDC also deals with International accelerators for reaching a global audience and promising startups will be supported.

Points to be noted
  • Preference for startups who have registered as a Pvt. Ltd. company or a LLP.
  • Core team should have more than one founder.
  • State government grants will be conditional to approvals from the Executive Committee of KSUM.
  • Startups should compulsorily attend the Induction program
