Department of Civil Engineering

Civil engineering is one of the famous branches of engineering. Since the beginning of civilization, it has led to the development of larger, better, and more diverse structures.

Even before the invention of fire, the wheel, metal, and so on, humans used to live in caves; this is when civil engineering was born. So civil engineering existed before any other branch of engineering.

Civil engineers' main jobs are to design, build, supervise, operate, construct, and maintain infrastructure projects and systems in the public and private sectors, such as buildings, airports, tunnels, roads, dams, bridges, and water supply and sewage treatment systems. Civil engineers can also work in the planning, design, construction, and research of architecture. Because the entire infrastructural framework of a country is based on civil engineering efficiency, civil engineers in India have numerous job opportunities.

  • Civil engineers design, improve, and protect the environments in which we live. They plan, design, and supervise the construction and maintenance of building structures and infrastructure.
  • If you are someone who takes a keen interest in the applied aspects of maths and physics, civil engineering might be an ideal course for you.
  • To become an agile civil engineer, one must first complete an engineering course at a recognized engineering institute/college and gain extensive subject knowledge.
  • Students gain an understanding of Science, Mathematics, and Technology during the B.Tech course. They are also taught how to efficiently design, create, and build structures by making the best use of available resources.

Why Study Here?

Civil engineers are frequently in charge of large teams involved in the project design, planning, and construction processes. This necessitates that they meet, collaborate with, and manage these team members, who include surveyors, construction managers, architects, landscape architects, and planners. Students gain an understanding of Science, Mathematics, and Technology during the B.Tech course. They are also taught how to efficiently design, create, and build structures by making the best use of available resources.
