Today Information Technology is growing fast forwardly in a tremendous and rocketing speed in all major and minor levels of Engineering and Technology. IT infrastructure is a vital and highly appreciable asset of an organization especially in the educational area. A well defined and high throughput IT infrastructure can throttle the level of education system and the knowledge of the students up to significant intellectual level. To compete with this grow up and to attain a feature rich future, the IT infrastructure of an organization should propel and expand its ingredients rapidly and constantly without any hesitation.
Here, at HCET, We built up a strong, stable, powerful and highly secured IT infrastructure with fully managed intranet facility and network connectivity at a speed of gigabit data transfer per second. When it comes to the IT security, it cannot be compromised for any matter and should be designed to withstand any situation flawlessly. Keeping this in mind, we have designed strong IT management policies, implementations and workarounds. HCET is connected to the external world with dedicated OFC WAN link having highly efficient and stable bandwidth of 7 mbps (1:1).
The IT assets require_once high end high availability dedicated servers and 200+ high performance Intel i5 based clients from Lenovo, Dell and Wipro is setup to cater the academic needs and and to accomplish the student goals. All these clients are under a single and stable domain for easiest management and monitoring. A strong security and internet firewall installed on one of our servers controls, manages and filters the internet traffic according to our security and IT management policies. More than 300 thousands of malicious and obscene category websites are filtered with these policies ensuring that each and every student at HCET should not be exposed to any kind of vulnerabilities and cyber misleads.
The Gigabit Intranet is built up on Fiber Optics backbone and reaches every nook of the campus either as wired or wirelessly. HCET is virtually enclosed in an onboard high availability Wi-Fi perimeter promising that everyone in the campus does not miss the opportunity to connect to the world. The networking is well structured and planned to attain the maximum out of it. An alternative Ethernet backup is installed for redundancy, in case of any emergency breakdown of the Fiber backbone.
A fully fledged anytime available Common Computer Facility (CCF) with 65 high performance computers is established at HCET to fulfill the student needs. In addition to this the IT management manages 2 fully fledged computer labs for various departments at HCET campus. Each lab is equipped with more than 50 Intel i5 based computers for conducting laboratory experiments, project works and research works
We are providing a high bandwidth internet connection support for accessing 3600+ international online journals through our dedicated firewall server with static IP address. We are also configured an in house dedicated video streaming server for hosting 550+ video classes of eminent IIT professors on various engineering branches that can be accessed anywhere in the campus. This will help students improving their knowledge, learning skills and potential to reach their desired goals.
